No man is an island entire unto himself.
Meredith Grey: Four hundred years ago, another well-known English guy had an opinion about being alone. John Donne. He thought we were never alone. Of course, it was fancier when he said it. "No man is an island entire unto himself." Boil down that island talk, and he just meant that all anyone needs is someone to step in and let us know we're not alone. And who's to say that someone can't have four legs. Someone to play with or run around with, or just hang out.---when you've got 8 years' worth of emotional baggage still being lugged around as you maneuver your way around your everyday dilemmas, you know you're not gonna last pretty long. 8 years. there's bound to be some form of breakdown every now and then. he knows i'm screwed up. he knows the frequency of my chest pains, my out-of-the-blue panic attacks, my zoning out, my tears.maybe not all of them.some of which i've kept to myself. others, with different people; most of the time, they're the unlucky ones left stunned not knowing what to do because i break down unexpectedly.i'm just as screwed up as you are.but maybe i'm luckier, because there's always someone who helps me get by.all anyone needs is someone to step in.you need someone to step in.
